A few years ago when I was planning my own wedding, attending college full-time & working part-time, I fell in love with the process of creating one of a kind pieces. It started with hand crafting all of my bridesmaids flower hairpieces as well as my own veil and other details for the big day. Without knowing it at the time, my true passion was sown and needed cultivating.
Once I said “I Do” to my amazing husband in 2010, I craved a creative outlet to get away from my double major studies and work schedule so I opened Love Sparkle Pretty on Etsy back in 2011. When I did, I started out selling flower clips and headbands for young girls. I gradually started working with photographers to create custom pieces for styled photo shoots which consisted a lot of bridal accessories. As I opened myself up to the wedding market, I immediately found my niche!
After I was accepted into nursing school to become an RN about a year and a half ago, I had to put Love Sparkle Pretty on hold and put the shop and all of my “creative work” on an extended vacation. During this time, my husband and I also welcomed our first baby into the world. I became a mother and it has forever changed my life’s perspective ever since.
Although I love the nursing field and the extensive education, I felt like a piece of me was missing as I was intently studying and working 12 hour shifts in the hospitals. I thought long and hard about what I really wanted to pursue and what was most important to me. With my husband’s tremendous support, I decided to leave nursing school to become a stay at home mother and pursue my creative dreams.
As of the beginning of 2013, I reopened my Etsy shop and hit the ground running. I created new product lines, I’ve worked with several photographers in all different states as well as out of the country, I am currently obtaining my wedding and event planning certificate, I have also attended floral design classes, coordinated several weddings and I work with the most amazing customers ever with many blossomed friendships!
I am so thankful for the support that I have received and truly believe in using the gifts that you have been blessed with. My journey is certainly far from over and I am so grateful to have found a passion that I can work hard towards and yet still love my ‘job’ & be with my family-my most important ministry.
